We are married. We are in mid-life (no crisis). We love to ride in our Side x Side.
Before 2020, Alaina did not even know what a side-by-side was. Greg was obsessing about 4-wheelers and "side-by-sides." Alaina, fear of being thought stupid held in check, finally asked - "What the heck is a side-by-side?"
With Greg's daily perusing of 4-wheelers and side-by-sides, Alaina knew they would eventually have to buy one or the other. Greg would not be put off forever. Alaina hates to be hot (and I mean HATES it). She was afraid of the amount of money that would have to be spent on buying one of these darn things and then not using it because, as we said, SHE HATES TO BE HOT.
Anyway, she finally gave in. We bought a Polaris Ranger XP 1000 (which we've since traded for a Rzr) and Alaina loved it. Even in the summer. Even on a trip to Oklahoma where the humidity is stupid in the summer.
We bought an enclosed trailer so we could take trips with our SxS and not have to worry about it being seen everywhere we park. Plus we are able to carry more stuff inside the trailer. Soon after we purchased the Ranger, Greg's brother and sister-in-law, Mike & Vickie, also purchased a Ranger and the four of us started taking out of town trips together to go ride.
The Problem
Not all parking lots were created equal. Not all parking lots were meant for us to park our 20' trailer in them. But we still have to find places to eat where we don't have to park a mile away. (Mid-life, hello. Bad backs and knees.) We also have to find hotels and gas stations that will accommodate our trailers. This has meant a lot of pre-trip planning, scouring Google Maps, Trip Advisor and the like, to check out parking lots before we even leave home. If you're here reading this, I'm assuming you've done the same.
The Solution
Enter, this fledgling website. Built by the people (Greg & Alaina), for the people (All of you. And us. So we don't forget. 'Cause we're old.)
Also - if you are travelling and find a restaurant/hotel/gas station that's great for folks pulling trailers, e-mail us! We will add your recommendation to this site. It's a big country and we need your help so we can all eat at places where we can park!
